What WordSolverX Is
WordSolverX is a website that publishes daily puzzle answers, maintains answer archives, and provides solver tools for Wordle and 20+ other daily puzzle games. It's independent — not affiliated with The New York Times, any game publisher, or any puzzle platform. It exists because the existing options for finding puzzle answers were either slow, ad-heavy, inaccurate, or all three.
The site covers three categories of content. First, daily answer pages — one for each game we track — that show today's answer immediately, no clicks required. Second, solver tools that let you work through a puzzle interactively instead of just reading the solution. Third, archives that let you look up any past answer by date, going back months or years depending on the game.
Everything is free. There's no sign-up, no premium tier, no paywall. The site makes money through display advertising, which is kept to a level that doesn't interfere with the actual content. If the ads get in the way, that's a bug, not a feature — and you can tell us about it on the contact page.
What You'll Find Here
The site is organized around four main sections, each accessible from the navigation above:
Today's Answers — A grid of every game we cover, each linking to its answer-today page. If you know which game you need, this is the fastest way there. Each answer page shows the answer first, followed by optional hints and a daily article with context about the specific puzzle.
Solver Tools — 44 tools (and growing) for different puzzle types. The Wordle solver alone covers nine different word lengths (3 through 11 letters). Beyond that, there are solvers for Quordle, Nerdle, Betweenle, Worldle, Phoodle, Waffle, Boggle, Hangman, Minesweeper, Kanoodle, and a long list of character-guessing games (LoLdle, Pokedle, Smashdle, Narutodle, Dotadle, Onepiecedle). Each solver runs in your browser using WebAssembly where needed, so there's no waiting for server responses.
Archives — Historical answer data for 18 games. The Wordle archive goes back to June 2021. Quordle, Nerdle, Phoodle, and most other games have similarly deep histories. Each archive page has a date picker or scrollable list, so you can find any specific day's answer without guessing at URLs or scrolling through hundreds of results.
Guides — Strategy content for the most popular games. Not generic "try common letters" advice, but specific, game-by-game breakdowns of how the mechanics work, where most players make mistakes, and how to improve. Each guide links to the relevant solver tool so you can practice immediately.
How the Site Works Technically
WordSolverX is built on SvelteKit and deployed on Cloudflare Pages. If you're not a developer, none of this matters to you — the site should just work fast. If you are a developer, here's the architecture at a high level:
Daily answer pages are statically generated at build time. The puzzle date calculation happens during the build, not in the browser, so the date shown on each page is baked into the HTML. This means answer pages load essentially instantly because there's no JavaScript that needs to execute before the content is visible.
Interactive solver tools use a combination of client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. The 5-letter Wordle solver, for instance, compiles the entire filtering algorithm to WASM so it runs in your browser without server round-trips. The word list for each solver is bundled at build time and loaded on demand. For games that require real-time data (like Squaredle, which generates a new board daily from an API), we use Cloudflare edge functions.
The card filtering system — the search bars on the homepage, today page, and solver page — runs entirely in vanilla JavaScript defined in app.html. It filters visible cards based on a data attribute match against your search query. No frameworks, no virtual DOM diffing, just fast DOM manipulation. This was a deliberate choice: the filter needs to work on every page including statically generated ones, and a framework-independent approach guarantees that.
Which Games We Cover
The game list grows as new puzzles gain enough daily players to justify coverage. As of this writing, we track answers and provide tools for:
Word games: Wordle (3-11 letters), Canuckle, Betweenle, Quordle, Octordle, Dordle, Phrazle, Semantle, Contexto, Worgle, and various Wordle variants (Hardle, Warmle, Woodle, Wordle Peaks, Xordle, Fibble, Spotle Wordle).
Non-word puzzles: Nerdle (all modes), Colordle, Colorfle, Waffle, Squaredle, Boggle, Hangman, Minesweeper, Kanoodle, Lights Out, Word Ladder, and Weaver.
Geography and trivia: Worldle, Globle, Countryle, Framed (movies), Spotle (music artists), Searchle (autocomplete), and Soundmap (artist guessing).
Character guessing: LoLdle (League of Legends), Pokedle (Pokemon), Smashdle (Super Smash Bros.), Narutodle (Naruto), Dotadle (Dota 2), and Onepiecedle (One Piece).
How Answers Are Sourced
Answer data comes from each game's own source material. For Wordle, we decode the official answer list embedded in the game's client-side JavaScript. For Nerdle, we pull from the equation database. For geography games, we track the country selection algorithms. For character-guessing games, we maintain databases of all possible characters with their attributes.
This means our answers are always in sync with the official games. When Wordle's answer list was modified by the New York Times (removing words like "SLAVE" and "WHORE"), our data reflected those changes immediately because we decode the current list at build time. We don't rely on manual updates or user submissions for core answer data — the source of truth is always the game itself.
For games where the answer source is an API that we can't decode from the client side (like Contexto, which uses a proprietary word embedding model), we use automated scripts that fetch the daily answer at the appropriate time and store it for our pages. These scripts run as part of the build process, so the answer is available by the time the page is served.
Independent Status
WordSolverX is not affiliated with The New York Times, the original Wordle creator (Josh Wardle), or the publishers of any of the games covered on this site. We don't have special access to game data, we don't receive compensation from game publishers, and we don't have any editorial relationship with them.
Puzzle names, logos, and trademarks referenced on this site belong to their respective owners. We use them for identification and reference purposes only — not to imply endorsement or affiliation. If a game publisher objects to our coverage, we'll work with them to find a reasonable solution.
Accuracy and Corrections
We aim for 100% accuracy on every answer page. When we fall short — and it does happen occasionally, usually because a game changed its answer source without notice — we want to know about it. The fastest way to report a wrong answer is through the contact page. Include the game name, the date, the answer we showed, and the correct answer. We'll verify and fix it, usually within a day.
Solver tools can also produce incorrect results if the word list is outdated or if a game has changed its rules. If a solver suggests words that aren't valid guesses in the game you're playing, that's a bug we need to fix. Same process: contact page, details about what went wrong, and we'll investigate.
